Lometa ISD understands the value of community and family in High Quality PreK Education. We believe that it takes a strong partnership to ensure the social, emotional, and academic growth of our children. We are committed to increasing the engagement of families and our community in the education process through the following efforts:
Facilitate Family to Family Support:
Lometa ISD will support campus-family relationships by providing parents/guardians with opportunities to participate in district and campus initiatives such as:
● District Planning and Decision Making Committee
● ClassTag Communication App
● Lometa ISD Facebook Page
● District Website
● Classroom and Campus Newsletters and Calendars
● Pre-k orientation and Meet the Teacher event
● Family Engagement Nights- 6 evenings throughout the year focused on literacy, math, and social/emotional development
● Communications in Home Language.
● Family Activities such as Walk a Mile in My Shoes, Muffins with Mom, Donuts with Dad, Easter Egg Hunt, Veterans Day celebration, Christmas Program, and others.

Establish a network of community resources:

Equip families with tools to enhance and extend learning:
Lometa ISD will equip families with learning opportunities and materials to enhance and extend learning.
● Family Engagement Nights- 6 evenings throughout the year focused on literacy, math, and social/emotional development.
● Pre-k orientation and Meet the Teacher event.
● Online programs and app list to extend learning at home.
● Summit K-12 program for ESL students.
● Online resources and newsletters with information to support class curriculum at home.
● Tutoring and Activies on Optional Mondays.

Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for educators on culturally responsive, evidence-based strategies that support the education of the child:
Lometa ISD will provide essential professional development for educators to develop skills in communication, and evidence-based strategies to have a positive impact on student achievement.
● Attend workshops specific to family engagement and early childhood education at Region 12
● Participate in early-childhood centered conferences such as Frog Street.
● Complete trainings through CLI-Engage.
● Weekly Professional Learning Community meetings.

Evaluate family engagement efforts and use evaluations for continuous improvement:
Lometa ISD will use student achievement, survey, and attendance data to ensure alignment between family engagement activities and student achievement goals. Lometa ISD will promote continuous family engagement.
