The Advanced Technical Center
The proposed project would provide an additional 14,000 sf vocational center that would focus upon metal technology (welding trades), automotive, computer programming, robotics and drones, and a medical program.
Production agriculture and building and trades would continue in the original vocational building.
3 New Classrooms—Medical, Computer Programming, and Metal Tech.
5,600 sf metal working, automotive, and general vocational shop.
Additional Lab Space: Robotics, Drones, and Emerging Tech such as Computer Aided Design.
How Did We Get Here?
The LISD School Board and Administrators have planned a new vocational center for the last several years.
At the February 16, 2023 board meeting, the LISD Trustees voted 6-0 to call 1.75 M bond election.
How Will This Project Effect Tax Rates?
The LISD tax rate is projected to decrease $.058 from the current $1.06450 to $1.0065
Important Information for those 65 and older
Once you receive an over-65 homestead exemption, you receive a tax ceiling for that home on your school taxes. The tax ceiling is the amount you pay in the year that you qualify for the over65 homeowner exemption and cannot generally increase as long as you live in that home.
